4-Week Pottery Wheel Class
4-Week Pottery Wheel Class
Four weeks. A pottery wheel. A version of you that makes things.
You've watched the wheel scene in Ghost. You've thought about pottery approximately every time you've needed a stress outlet and couldn't think of one. This is your moment.
Our 4-Week Wheel Class is the most satisfying way to spend a month — part skill-building, part meditation, part "wait, I actually made that?" disbelief. Over four sessions, you'll go from absolute beginner to someone who throws mugs and bowls on a pottery wheel with a tiny bit of confidence and only moderate amounts of clay on your shirt.
What You'll Learn
- A full orientation to the pottery studio and potter's wheel — no experience required, just curiosity
- How to center clay on the wheel (harder than it looks, more satisfying than almost anything)
- Throwing functional pottery: mugs, bowls, and the forms that make everyday life more beautiful
- Pulling handles and attaching them so they actually stay on
- Trimming your work on the wheel for clean, finished bases
- How to slow the drying process to maximize your pieces' success rate
- How to select your best work, finish it properly, and reclaim the rest like a pro
What You'll Walk Away With
Eight to twelve finished, kiln-fired pieces (two to three per class session) that you made with your own hands — plus the skills, muscle memory, and studio comfort to keep going. Most students find that four weeks is the point where the wheel becomes your friend.
Who This Is For
Complete beginners and anyone who has ever started a sentence with "I've always wanted to try pottery." Open to students aged 10 and up. Students under 16 must have a parent or guardian enrolled in and attending the same workshop.
Class size is small so instruction stays personal. Aprons provided. The clay is included. The obsession that follows is on you.
