8-Week Pottery Wheel Class — Intermediate Skills & Glazing
8-Week Pottery Wheel Class — Intermediate Skills & Glazing
Only 5 seats per class.
Eight weeks. A potter's wheel. A collection of functional pieces you actually made with your hands. This is the class for anyone who's been waiting for the right moment to finally get serious about pottery — or get back to it.
Our 8-Week Pottery Wheel Class takes you from foundational centering and cylinder work all the way through glaze layering techniques, with small class sizes (max 5 students) that keep instruction personal and progress fast. Projects are chosen in consultation with your instructor each week, so the work stays meaningful and matched to your pace.
🗓️ What You'll Learn, Week by Week
- Weeks 1–2: Centering, opening, and pulling walls — the foundation of everything on the wheel. You'll throw your first cylinders and a small planter. From here, the clay — and the world — opens up.
- Weeks 3–4: Finishing skills — trimming, handle pulling, and surface decoration — while continuing to throw new projects each week.
- Weeks 5–6: Move beyond bowls. Throw jars, teapots, ramen bowls, mugs, and forms that reflect your own developing style.
- Weeks 7–8: Glaze strategies and science — layering dip and brush-on cone 6 glazes for different effects. Continue throwing new projects or perfecting previous ones.
