Traditional Ukrainian Easter Eggs -- Pullman
Join our master Ukrainian artist Ivanka Petrukha and learn about Easter around the world, while creating your own one-of-a-kind, intricately decorated Easter egg. It is an item you are sure to treasure for many many years.
Because this workshop requires significant preparation ahead of time, seats are limited, with two dates available:
Saturday, April 12, 1pm (all ages)
Friday, April 18, 6pm (adults only please)
From our Instructor:
Our homeland is famous for beautiful Easter eggs! In this workshop we will show you how to make these beautiful eggs for your friends and family. You will learn something about the graphics and colors of our country.
All our creative activities are designed to help participants discover their talents: to be brave and to respond actively and to freely express themselves. Participants will master various art techniques and create their own artistic expressions as keepsakes.
About the Artists:
Olha Hrytsiuk and Ivanka Petrukha are accomplished multi-medium artists who taught art therapy in Ukraine before and during the war. As a Mother-Daughter artistic team, they owned an art studio near the border, and stayed until there was no choice but to flee. As recent refugees, Ivanka and Olha are learning English at Spokane Community College.
They are excited to be part of the Terracotta Pullman team and sharing the joy and processes of creating again. Ivanka and Olha are skilled educators and demonstrate their joy and talents through accessible techniques. They empower those around them to get messy and set themselves free through a joyful, creative process. Both find inspiration in the seasons and natural world, and are inspired to celebrate simply being alive.
